Room 3 Aquarium

Room 3 students have made and painted clay fish.  These are now on display in our 'aquarium'.  Parents, you are welcome to visit the classroom to see them or leave a comment on the blog.

Clay Fish

Our clay fish have been fired, so it was time to undercoat them in white paint so that the background colour looks vivid and bright.

First we had a Play Clay Day where we played and experimented with clay.  The next day we made a fish out of clay.  Now they must be left to dry out for three weeks before they are ready to be fired in the kiln.  The next stage will be to paint them in creative colours like the fish in the Go Fish Go book that motivated us in the first place.

Adan's super hero

We used our imaginations to describe our favourite super power.  Then we used pastels to make a picture to illustrate our story.

Self Portraits

Conner sketched added glasses to his self portrait.

We learnt to use a sketching pencil in different ways to make our self portrait.  Afterwards we wrote a personal profile and completed a self assessment of the art process.

We illustrated our descriptions of the Swimming Sports with art work using multi media: paint, pastel and collage.

Cicada Art

I wonder who the artist was here?

We collected, in total, 547 cicada shells for the Science Table.  We used them for Cicada Maths to practice place value and also for Environmental Art.

Valentine cards

We researched all kinds of symbols and found a heart shape means love.

Here is one of our finished Valentine cards with its woven heart.  We published our Valentine's poem inside.

Cade and Daniel are working on their weaving.

We used dye to make a pattern on paper.  When it was dry, we cut the paper into strips and then wove them together to make a unique design.
