Humpty Dumpty play in Room 3

Wrist wrappers rock!

We sprayed the wrist wrappers gold and glued on tiny jewels.

We followed the instructions in School Journal 25 to make wrist wrappers.

Reading the book, "Race to the Finish"

Great race track, Elephants!
The Elephant reading group read the book, Race to the Finish.  After discussing the book, they made all the race flags and a race track with a pit stop and stands.  Everyone was able to have a turn driving the race cars around the track.

Kaleb, Hannah T and Karissa built this bridge.

Chloe-Mae, Celia and Nisha made changes to their bridge design.
The Tiger reading group read the book, The Impossible Bridge, and then they followed the instructions in the book to make their own bridges using materials from around the classroom.

Magic Show

Ben performed his magic trick.

The magicians made posters and tickets for their show.
The Zebra reading group read the book, Making a Magic Show, and then followed the instructions to learn one magic trick.  After making a magician's hat, posters to advertise the show and tickets for seating, they performed a lunch time magic show for the Weka Team.

Jacob tried out his maze using a giant marble.
The Elephant reading group read the book, The Maize Maze, and then made their own maze out of materials they found in the classroom.

Reading our letters

Ganujan and Jordan are finding some useful tips in their letters!
At the end of 2013, last year's Room 3 students wrote letters to help us settle into the Weka Team.  We read them on our first day in Year 3.
