Grand Prix

We have been blitzing multiplication to finish the year.  Adan and Jordan are our champion drivers in the Multiplication Grand Prix.  If you would like to try this at home over the holidays, the link is:

First we had a Play Clay Day where we played and experimented with clay.  The next day we made a fish out of clay.  Now they must be left to dry out for three weeks before they are ready to be fired in the kiln.  The next stage will be to paint them in creative colours like the fish in the Go Fish Go book that motivated us in the first place.

Can this really be happening?

We were allowed to pick up the starfish in the rock pools.

Ethan researching sharks on the interactive screens.

The jellyfish gently floated towards the surface of the water.

Some of the penguins came to say hello!

Stingray Bay gave us an awesome view of the fish and stingrays underwater.

We could imagine what it would feel like  swimming underwater in the shark tunnel.

We measured up well against the sharks.

 

Wrist wrappers rock!

We sprayed the wrist wrappers gold and glued on tiny jewels.

We followed the instructions in School Journal 25 to make wrist wrappers.

Everyone in Room 3 enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book character.

The book characters took to the playground.

Our trip to MOTAT

The conductor told us all about the trams in the olden days.

Ashley helped the conductor drive the tram back to MOTAT.

The conductor let Ashley wear his conductor cap after helping drive the tram.

Jacob and Jordan were back at school, even while we were on a trip!

Cade used the hammer, rods and blocks to make a tall tower.

Nisha, Chloe-Mae and Hannah T made a skateboard.

Adan and Ben made vehicles using wheels and axles.

Room 3 and Room 5 worked together on the gear cogs.

A broken thumb didn't stop Daniel pushing Josiah round!
